Career Summary & Goals
Long-term goal
Graduate from university, obtain my nursing licensure, and secure a full-time Registered Nurse position in a specialized hospital abroad (preferably ICU or ER) within one year after graduation.
Professional Development Plan - 23 July 2026
Goal 1 - Excellent academic and clinical performance
Increase my grades by studying 3–4 hours daily and keeping up with coursework until graduation.
Goal 2 - Certifications and advanced clinical competence
Obtain professional nursing certifications and develop advanced competence during my third year.
Goal 3 - Prepare for international nursing employment
Build a list of job opportunities abroad and meet licensing requirements by July 2027.
Goal 4 - Leadership, communication and professional skills
Strengthen leadership and communication throughout my second and third year.
Nursing Philosophy
Nursing, to me, is the meeting point between scientific accuracy and human dignity. I am guided by three principles: do no harm, treat every patient as a whole person rather than a diagnosis, and keep learning - because evidence-based practice is how compassion becomes competent care.

Work-Based Learning Self-Reflection
How work exposure informed my skills development
My clinical placements moved me from theory to bedside reality. In the ICU at Labib Medical Center I learned that vital signs are a story rather than a set of numbers, and that noticing a small change early can prevent a code. Working in the emergency department at Makassed General Hospital taught me to triage quickly, to keep my hands steady during resuscitations, and to ask for help before a situation becomes unsafe. Each rotation added a concrete skill - IV access, wound care, medication calculation, documentation - but more importantly it built the judgement that tells me which skill a patient needs first.
How it shaped my body of work experience
Across three placements I built a record of supervised practice in emergency, critical care, surgical and operating room settings. Alongside my Trauma Management and Evaluation certification from the American College of Surgeons, this gave me a body of work that is deliberately focused rather than scattered: acute, high-acuity nursing. Volunteering in the breast cancer awareness campaign and interprofessional education activities widened this with community health and teamwork experience.
How it shaped my career choices
Before my placements I was open to any nursing specialty. After them, I know that I work best in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where prioritization matters. This is why my professional development plan is built around ICU and ER practice, ACLS certification and eventual international licensure - my career choices now follow directly from where my clinical experience showed me I am most effective and most useful to patients.
